There are minimal studies out regarding the effects/benefits of CBD products in animals. It is believed that all animals also have an endocannabinoid system, and the same goes for animals as with humans- this system is needed to create homeostasis in the body and needs to be supported. There are many different reasons you may choose to start your animal on a CBD supplement. Animals have the same parts that we do but their physiology is different.
Starting a routine of CBD for pets
When starting CBD, remember to start low and go slow. Start with a low CBD dose, monitor your pet for its response. If the dose seems that it is not producing the benefits, slowly titrate the dosage up to recommended dose per weight. Since animals cannot explain their symptoms and how they are feeling, it is up to you as the owner to monitor for your pets response to the supplement. One research study conducted showed CBD may be beneficial in dogs with osteoarthritis. If you have an animal that is normally very anxious in certain situations and it appears calmer- the oil may be working. If you have a dog with aches and pain that impair its physical mobility and it appears to running and moving about more at ease, the oil may be working.
